A guy can only do so many tanks with crews lounging about before it gets old so I'm trying to think up different scenarios that were probably commonplace. Think of this as, perhaps, the origins of the fast food drive thru...perhaps the Germans have cause to sue McDonald's for patent infringement. Thanks all for the positive comments

@markh - Amazing! That was exactly the scenario I had in mind when I posted last! It'd be a good one. "Fast food on the Eastern Front." GMTA

@markh, just showed the picture of the horse to my daughter and she had the idea that it could be a Hanoverian.

So I Googled "Hanoverian" and it turns out to be a war/draft horse breed developed in northern Germany over the last 250 years or so. It seems that blind dumb luck made me choose the right horse to paint.

I've not been working on this much lately but have the general layout established and the first three stages of the base finished. More progress on figures, am approaching them slowly as I'm not very good at them. I'm trying multiple coats of very diluted paint so I can get some variety in them not sure how it's gonna turn out but I do know I'm awful at the traditional figure painting method so experimentation is indicated

    Thanks gents

Creeping slowly toward the finish line. Base is finished with some things permanently attatched. Food in the dirt would be frowned on by most so I scratched up a table for the cooks, and figures are pretty close to complete. I did the flesh tone base in enamels so it'll be awhile before I can detail faces out. The multiple thin paint coats worked very well; this technique adjusted with a few things I've learned will become my go to style

    Brother Spiros thank you

JB this technique came about quite accidentally, I'd gotten distracted and thinned down the paint too much. When I started to apply it and saw the results at first I said "#&@#@!". Then I looked closer and said "Hey not bad let's do some more". Not the first thing I've done wrong that turned out right.

So this one's history, it was a fun and engaging project in which I got to develop a few new techniques, and that's always good. I'll put it up on the article section with more pics. Thanks for following this other opinions are always most useful

Continued. Since I can't seem to build an airplane these days I'll go back to picking the shelf.

This is the new tool Tamiya Jagdpanzer IV/L 70 I did about two and a half years ago and abruptly stopped working on for the lack of an idea of what to do with it. I got one now, am busy filthying it up with some MIG acrylic mud paste and MIG enamel earth tones for a simple little contryside vignette. It's good to see the shelf being reduced.
