I've spent the last few days grinding away at this thing with sandpaper starting with 280 grit sand paper and progressing through 600, then 400 grit. I finished with the Micro Mesh system, 1,500 through 12,000 grit. I'm hoping a little sheen would highlight the difference between the areas finished and those waiting to be done. I tried get a good close up of the left wing...

...To compare to the polished right. Basically, the back half is yet to be done, although some sanding has been started there.

    More to come,

    Dave

All of the extra work is certainly worth it, Dave (@davekight). This will be a really cool and unusual model when you are done.

A challenging build, and looking good! It's Alive! Here's my take on the "B" bird, I took the easy way out and used the old Revell kit, I did try to reshape the nose a bit, a ton of sanding, and add a tailhook and fairing.

A great job on a classic kit, Robert. Mine is 3 parts Airfix, 2 parts that same Revell kit and 1 part AMT. (And maybe half a part ResKit since I got my hands on their resin exhaust nozzles. They were a bit pricey, but I thought this project deserved some dolling up and nothing like them existed when I started...)
