    When I see Tamiya's 1/12 Formula 1 kits of the early eighties, the Ferrari 312T4 and the Renault RE20, after almost 40 years they keep on inviting me to pursue a childhood memory. The point is: these kits are huge and given today's standards they are at most a base for a scratch build project. Things would look entirely different if I imagine these kits' level of detail in 1/20. And, guys from Aoshima, Beemax, Tamiya and whoever feels addressed by it: that's exactly what we want! Highly detailed 1/20 kits of the milestones of Formula 1 history. Here's a suggestion and as you know from reading our this week's newsletter, one of my dreams came true already.

    Please feel free to add your objects of desire and don't hesitate to start topics for sports cars, motorbikes, off-road, ...

    My two favourites for the 2017 '1/20 treatment' would be the classic Lotus '79' - gorgeous...

    And the amazing Tyrrell P34...

    Now this has got me interested! I hope you don't mind me posting loads of photos here!

    I remember a while back the subject was raised that a few new bike kits wouldn't go a miss. I said that I'd really like to see a Kawasaki H2R, then as if by magic, there it was at my local hobby shop! I didn't even know the kit had been in development... Needless to say it's in the stash accumulating aftermarket goodies! I've just bought the studio 27 carbon fibre decals for it and a zero paints colour set.

    When it comes to car kits, the level of detail in Tamiya's premium kits is fantastic. I really enjoyed building the FXX, and I've got the LaFerrari to build as well. The car kit I'd like to see the most though from Tamiya with that level of detail is without a doubt the P1.

    I'd also really like to see a kit of the Zonda R, I think that is an awesome machine. We don't have any Bugatti or Koenigsegg kits neither, they would make fantastic subjects. Also they are no TVR's... I would love a Sagaris or a Speed 12 in my case.

    I think I really interesting idea for some new kits would be to release some more top end 'executive' sports cars. You could have hours of fun on the interiors, and then also some big engines to detail! The ones pictured here are the Merecedes S65 AMG, the Bentley Continental GT and the Jag XJR.

    Now bikes... I got my wish with the H2R, so now the one I would like more than any other is the Tyco BMW S1000rr. I think it looks amazing, with the performance to match.

    With the race bikes, I think it would be cool if Tamiya released a few world superbikes. There doesn't seem to be any on the market. Also the Moto GP Suzuki GSXRR would be a really cool addition.

    Now road bikes, I would love to see a ZZR performance sport and the new Norton V4. Both amazing machines, especially the Norton. I was actually going to buy a ZZR performance sport, then the bottom fell out the oil industry so I didn't bother! I could actually go on all day with this, but I leave it at this for now!

    I don't where to start here. Somehow those old Tamiya kits seemed to suit the era, not sure that a modern standard kit would be suitable somehow. As for a wish list, well, how about classic Jaguars like the C type and D types, not to mention the various versions of the E type. It's interesting, I'm very keen on rally cars, but haven't yet bought the Belkits Mk 1 Escort, a classic rally car, can't really explain why... As for modern F1 models, I'm a real McLaren fan, but haven't (yet) bought any of the Ebbro McLaren Honda kits, despite good reviews either, not sure what's going on, it's a strange hobby.

    Just want one, 1967 Gurney Eagle Weslake -- one of the best looking cars ever, from the most exciting era of F1, and would look perfect next to the Lotus 49. Of course, I'd take a '67 / '68 Ferrrari in about one second also.
    I know MFH makes one, but the price is prohibitive IF you can find one.

    @mikem
    The beauty of this car is mind-blowing. And yes, in fact the Hiro kits' pricing is shocking. I'm not saying that they're not worth it, but the sheer numbers make me nervous. They do have all the cool subjects though. I've been sneaking around their Lancia 037 kit for a while.

    @chinesegeorge
    Oh yea, the Jaguars do belong on the list. A Series 1 E-Type would be it.

    @richardmcstay48gmail-com
    Will you do the Tamiya Ninja H2R?

    There was a time when I modeled NASCAR stock cars exclusively, but I gave up long ago trying to keep up with all the sponsor, driver, number, colors, etc. changes every year. Impossible. Now I only have one. My favorite. Petty's Superbird.
