Here is what I managed to get done over the past several evenings.
I was painting the aluminum color for the radiator of the Wingnut Wings Pfalz D-III. I thought it would be the perfect time to paint the Voss Albatros wings too.

So I got busy and built the upper wing. Unfortunately I didn't grab any pictures...

This shows the underside of the top wing. Here I had masked the radiator off and sprayed it. This was followed by painting the rest of the underside on both wings with Light Blue.

The wings looked like this now...

So it was time to spray the top side. I have been doing some research, and even though I was considering painting the upper wing in Green and Mauve, I decided to keep it as it would have originally been with a Dark Green, Red Brown and Light Green color combination.

and since I was spraying these colors... and building the Roden Mercedes D-III engines... I have a surprise for you.

In the form of an Albatros D-I. I am starting another build journal for it. Since I was already building the Voss Albatros, it was very simple to get the D-I up to speed.

We have a Hurricane that is currently projected to make landfall west of us. We should be OK, but we might lose power for a little while. I will try to comment if I can.

    As always, comments are encouraged.
Take care and have a good night.

Thank you my friends. We were very lucky and the hurricane did not do much harm in our neighborhood. All we had happen was some small tree branches were blown down. The misses and I have since cleaned up the yard and now you can't even tell that a storm went through.

Please stand by, as I have an update for the Voss Albatros.

Here is what I accomplished a few days ago. I have not had time to post it up, that's all.

Like the other Roden Albatros D-I, I sprayed the inside of the fuselage halves with a light brown / tan colored paint.

The main cockpit section was also sprayed.

As were the rest of the wooden interior parts. These will all get some oil paints brushed on them, and once dry, they will be assembled into the fuselage.

Speaking of assembling parts to the fuselage. I have installed the Mercedes D-III engine. It took some fiddling to get it to line up, but it worked out well in the end.

This shows the details of the engine. Sharp eyed viewers will notice the masking tape is missing on the intake manifold. I noticed the Voss Albatros did not have the intake wrapped in asbestos, so off the tape came. I will likely try it again in the future on another Mercedes engine.

This last picture shows what the Voss Albatros looks like at the moment.

Hopefully Sunday I can get some more accomplished.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a good night.

    As always, comments are encouraged.

Glad to hear the hurricane didn't do too much damage, Louis @lgardner
From the news we saw that several regions did suffer a lot however.
The interior progresses nicely, especially with the detailed engine in place now.

That engine looks great fitted Louis , pity some of the detail will not be seen when the model is compete.

I already have one Albatros from Roden built. Personally, I would recommend grinding the coolers and using PE parts from Eduard. It brings the model to life beautifully and the wing does not need to be changed.
