I’ve had this Revell kit for almost 30 years. Time to build it. To be honest, it would have been built sooner if it didn’t come in one of those ridiculous end opening boxes. As silly as it sounds, I’d probably build more Revell kits if they came in regular top/bottom boxes. I recently purchased a Gold Medal models PE set to dress it up. The kit and the PE look relatively straightforward and I’m looking forward to finishing this without stalling out from “tiny PE burnout syndrome “.

The Emden was a German light cruiser that destroyed seventeen Allied merchant ships and two warships in the first three months of WW1. The ship was part of the German navy’s Asiatic squadron and conducted its rampage in the Indian Ocean. Ultimately, she was destroyed after running aground in the Cocos Islands during combat with HMAS Sydney.

A great war ship, John @j-healy
I agree with those boxes, my preference is also the top/bottom boxes but in the end it is about the plastic that is inside.
A very nice set of PE, looking forward to she this ship getting together.

I think great minds think alike, John (@j-healy). I have the same model, the same PE, and the same book. Mine is still far down the build queue, so I am really looking forward to your build.
