Beautiful work done on those small parts, George @gblair
The angle of the wings does look perfect.

I always said that fitting the top wing and struts was the hardest job with multi wing A/C, you have done it without any problems, excellent.

Thanks, Spiros (@fiveten), John (@johnb), and Ian (@firelockg). I specifically picked this plane because the struts and wires were simple compared to other multiwing airplanes. I picked this scale so all of the parts and tasks would be easier to see and manipulate. So far, the choice have worked well. :o)

I am getting really close to calling this one done. I am really trying not to do anything that will mess up something I have done previously, so I am really taking my time and thinking about things. Started on the wires today. I think I will do all of the wires that are easy to reach on top of the airplane, then turn it over and do the same underneath. A lot more wires underneath. Something to look forward to. I am using Gator's Glue, mainly because it has a little flex to it.

Hi, George... I've been catching up on some of the posts here recently. I have to say, your streaked camouflage is easily the best I've seen in a very long time - very well reproduced.

I'm not sure if this next bit is pertinent to your model, but the attached photos of my completed Roden kit shows there was an inspection panel (?) in the centre of the top wing. You maybe know about this already and have still to add it on to your kit, or perhaps your version didn't have this panel, but I thought it might be likely it did.

I've only ever seen this once when looking at completed Dr.I kits online, but almost all others seem not to include this detail. I don't recall where I saw or read about the panel, but seem to think it was described as a panel which had the serial number of the airframe, and the panel needed to be signed to confirm that the aircraft was airworthy. It seems to have had a surround with a transparent section so the signature could be checked. I just thought bringing this to your attention might be helpful to you. Keep up the great work, you're doing very well so far... ;-).

This is getting together real nice, George @gblair
Take care that you are not getting affected by this wire installment, you might end up building more multi-wing aircraft 🙂

Thanks for stopping in, Paul (@paulh) and John (@johnb).

Thanks for the kind words, Paul. I have only been able to find two photos of these unarmed trainers, and none of them show the top of the wing. I know there was a lot of variation between individual planes, especially in these early triplanes, but I don't know if this extended to this upper wing panel. I am curious now if the early triplanes had this panel, but I probably won't add it at this stage of the build. I am sure this panel wouldn't be the only thing missing from this ancient Revell kit.

No problem there, John. I have plans to do only two other WW1 planes. I have the Meng Dr.1 in 1/32, and then I have the Roden Fokker D.VII in 1/32. I have found decals to do a Dutch D.VII, so I won't have to create masks for the markings. After doing this kit, it may be a while before I get two these two builds.

This is outstanding so far George (@gblair). You really have a knack for getting these colors correct. That one photo of the plane seen from the left rear quarter is a great shot, very much showing off your handiwork. I could see this same shot used in an inflight photo as it looks to have the correct angle one might see the triplane from if in another aircraft. Anyway, bravo and well done so far.

Thanks, Carl (@clipper): This model has been a lot more fun than I expected, and it seems to be progressing much better than I thought it would. From a few feet away, the model looks pretty good, I think.

Awesome, John (@johnb). Thanks. I think the decals that I got are for the same plane.
