Great idea for a group, Louis. A serious subject with huge development of technology associated.

My first build will the Zeppelin that first attacked, London!

It looks so simple but reviews show that putting it together involves much sanding and some filling and great care with tiny photoetch!

    Let’s see how we go!

What an excellent choice ! I was hoping that someone would build one of these... I'm looking forward to your next steps.

    Welcome aboard !

I recently completed the Takom Q class Zeppelin. Despite appearing to be a simple project, the kit proved to be quite challenging.

This will be cool, Paul (@yellow10), and it certainly gets the award for the most unusual model in the group (so far). Looking forward to your model.

Robert @magoo - I have read it’s not a walk in the park. I’ll give it a go. Any advice around putting the body together - the fit looks pretty average.

Just removed the halves of the main body from sprues and glued them. Not sure about the tech issues with making molds, but the kit has two halves, front and back, and will now require some sanding and filling of the subsequent join.

The forward and rear halves of the hull do not line up very well. I made certain that the upper portions were lined up as well as possible before gluing. That way, most of the filling and sanding was restricted to the lower portions.

@rickschad I’ll be doing LZ38. We could have 2 but there are also other options! Was too timid to do the camo version! I have family who remembered the Zeppelins and I lived near the memorial for the Xep bombings in Cuffley as a kid. So I wanted to put the one that bombed London together.

Whatever you want to do, don’t let me building one stop you!
