    Here is another very simple base/support, where you can lay your model onto three nails that can be arranged strategically onto a styrofoam base...

    Here is a Mustang resting on it, while the gloss clear coat is drying... The nails are placed in such a way that the points of contact are the bays, letting the external surfaces untouched... ...so the gloss coat can dry uneventfully.

    Apart from styrofoam you can choose your preferred base material, and also any type of nails or like supports.
