Looks good, Chuck (@uscusn). I have read that you get about 90% of the strength from superglue almost immediately, but it doesn't fully cure for 12 hours or so. It never hurts to be careful and let it sit for a while.

Thanks John and Spiros, the gear does make me a bit nervous as it is quite wobbly despite the good contact points. Though even the sturdier struts on the Monogram Invader are also. A jolt of the shelf may break them. So solution, place on strong shelf not prone to shake even during a moderate quake.

Thanks George, that may be true I was not aware of that, just taking precautions and left it upside down overnight. Things like doors or parts that have no stress or load will be ok. Just the act of knocking it off when handling is about the only thing worry about.

The first Counter Invader I built so long ago I had left it bare of ordnance. This time going to load her up. So starting with the BLU-27 units, I assembled a pair of them.

Next a pair of Mk.81 bombs, with conical tails.

Then a pair of Mk.82 Snake eyes w/extenders.

Next a BLU-23 cannister is assembled.

The bombs and BLU-27 are painted Olive Drab. The Snake eyes have the extenders painted aluminum.

The BLU-23 cannister and Naphalms are painted aluminum.

    Next to apply the markings.

Thanks Spiros and John, it will be quite an impressive war load on the pylons.

Catching up to the B-26K, the markings are applied to each piece of ordnance, starting with BLU-27 and 23.

Next the Mk.1 conical fin and Mk.2 Snakeeyes with low drag tail units.

The load that will be carried.

Station 4 carries the BLU-27 (LH wing inner pylon), station 3 will carry the BLU-23.

A pair of Mk.2 500LB bombs are in the bomb bay. Then the bomb bay doors are installed.

The doors have a decent contact point and so far with the 1st ICM Invader build, the doors have been solid not prone to falling off.

The final weapon to paint and decal is the LAU-10A rocket pod.

Nice touch in having the rocket heads as separate parts. Easier to paint.

The rocket pod is mounted on station station 2 under the RH wing.

Finally the Mk77 naphalm cannister is mounted on station 4.

Once the ordy has set on the pylons. And careful not to knock any off while completing the under surface details. Which entails the various antennas and replacing the "towel bar" just aft of the bomb bay. First is "boomerrang" style antenna.

Finally the last antenna next to the LH nose gear door. Once set, a touch of Flat Black to cover a bit of exposed plastic.

Once all the lower details have been attached. On her feet with the ordnance mounted on the pylons.

Finally the upper mounted antennas are attached.

Next up the final detals, props and guns..

Ah yes, the final hanging bits, the part of modeling which "hangs up" 🙂 so many modelers after a lengthy build. I'm working on a slightly smaller load out for my FJ-4B Fury before painting the plane because I know I will be tempted to rush it afterwards. Looking good Chuck (@uscusn).

Thanks John, the final details, just the cannon barrels to install in the nose.
Thanks Carl, patience on hanging ordnance regardless if missiles or bombs one at a time, I do rush at times, your Fury is the Hobby Boss kit?
Thanks Spiros, your encouragement is always appreciated.

After a long hiatus, just a quick update. I assembled the Vector resin props, easy to assemble, easy to remove from the block.

Next is to have them painted and then modify them a little to have them fit on the ICM kit. In the meantime I have the kit props temporarily mounted. Simply a pressure fit on the hub bosses.

    Next the final details.

Definitely an improvement over the original ones.
