So it's time for my first 1/35 Tank. What else could I do but the awesome Italian Main Battle Tank, the C1 Ariete. Italian armour is mostly olive green but I found some nice references of the Nato camo on the C1 so thats definitely where I'm taking this one. Hope you enjoy.
Starting off well - gosh now I know why eveyone complains about road wheels sanding and painting forever.

Did some work on the turret and barrel - a 2 piece barrel so had to get rid of that seam.

The Breda gun has nice detail but no barrel hole so I cut off the barrel and replaced it with a hypodermic needle shaft.
All primed up with Vallejo black primer and ready for paint - amazing details.
And with a spot of colour it comes to life.

Another super entry and ditto progress, my friend @anthonyricco! Looks fantastic so far, unbelievable it is your first 1/35 tank!
Great entry and an even better start, Anthony @anthonyricco You really seem to get along with a 1/35 tank.
Hey Spiros @fiveten and John @johnb - your encouragement is always awesome, thanks a lot yes my first 1/35 tank - been quite enjoyable so far, I'm glad you guys think it looks good.
Really nice, like this.
Lots been done on the Ariete since my last post - here are some photos of the tank going together. Running gear on and lights painted.
Breda Machine gun painted up.
And then weathering - some mud splatter, dust and some streaking to break it all up.

Really nice work, Anthony @anthonyricco The weathering is exactly right.
Thanks so much John @johnb - was a really enjoyable build.
