Seeing that the Sd.Kfz. 234, with the new Miniart kits, I went rummaging through forgotten boxes and found the old Italeri kit of the Sd.Kfz. 234/1 in 1/35 scale, which I must have bought 10 or 15 years ago.
The overall dimensions of the kit are correct, but the level of detailing is quite poor, according to current standards.
In order to improve it, I used a lot of scratch for the engine vents, antenna and canister supports, turret interior, suspension and other minor details.
For the antennas and some parts inside the tower I used leftovers from Dragon kits. The canisters and tools are a mix of parts from Takom and Italeri kits. The main gun is from Tamiya.
What remains to be replaced are the wheels, which although in diameters are correct, the detail is very basic. To replace them I'm between the Panzer Art kits (which are specific for Italeri) and the Rye Field Model.
