Thanks Spiros @fiveten, I've now moved on to the diorama which is a new thing for me, keeping it simple on this so lets see how it goes, started off with some bashed up fuel drums that will be clocking the road, I melted and deformed them to get some old looking drums. Then onto trying to work out the layout.

More work in progress on this one - As it my first diorama I thought I'll use model based products and some things from around the house so I could learn in the easiest way - Love this earth texture product from Vallejo - works superbly.

First step was to get my layout working an have a directional flow, so the foreground is low on the right then it moves up with the end point being the top of the rock high on the left.

Next I used ground up cat litter and sprinkled it onto watered down wood glue on the base to give different textures. Then some layout tests.
