    Hi, just quickly.

Sprayed the chassis this afternoon, with out thinking about how to hold it until it dried?
    Solution was at hand.

Also did some other bits, readying for later.

And the varnish I have been using over the last few builds.
    Not bad stuff.

Catch up later maybe, depends on work.

Not so much of an update, more of an apology.
Do to work last weekend and this not a lot has been done.
Plus it has been too warm to spray.

    So some prep work.

Body shell cleaned and air scoops added (they had been painted, decalled and varnished before.

    And this head on shot.
I fitted the chassis temp to gauge the fit, and it is quite good.

And here a couple of the cab, with the dash temp in place, but the door panels and rear bulkhead fixed.

I hope to post a bit more when time allows.

Simon, in warmest Hampshire, England that is.

It's sure is a nice looking car, looking forward to seeing that yellow. I saw on the BBC website that you're having a bit of sunshine and warm weather, it's such an exception that it always seems to be something of a surprise! Do you have hosepipe bans now? (Not that it would affect you too much!)

    A little update.
First off, these are some of the bits left to work on.

The discs were given a coat of base black, before a coat or two of Alcad Chrome.
The faces were painted with a hairy stick and Tamiya XF 56, and the calipers painted with X7.

The exhausts were given the Chrome treatment too.
Then a dusting of weathering powders Tamiya`s Soot and Oily Blue.

The Prancing Horse emblem went the same way, with the Chrome of course.

Postings could get a bit sketchey for the next few days, we a wait the birth of our first Grand Daughter.
    So apologies to all.

Well, a quick update, on two fronts.
    First the build.
Did a dry fit of the front wheel , just to see how it looks.
I painted the rear of the wheels matt black , to try and mask them out.
All that needs to be done is decals on the calipers and a coat of satin varnish.

They did need a careful filing session to make the the wheel spin or turn.

Next thing is that our grand daughter was born today, so less time on the bench for a while.
    Will post when I can.

    Not a lot done.
I managed to put the decals on the discs and wheels.
These just need varnishing and assembling.

It just leaves, engine bay cover to mask, plus the air box, a lot of stuff with that.
Oh yeah the body shell too, that needs painting too.
So, lets see what can be done over the next week.

Well it has been nearly a week sine I posted anything on this build.
Sorry about that, George said why. We have become grandparents for the first time.

Anyhow, the wheels and radiator have been finished and fitted.

This is what you will not see a lot of once built.

So on wards to the body work...

    Well, I have some news.
The windscreen was badly scratched, to bad to polish out.
So a quick email to Revell on Monday resulted in a letter arriving on Wednesday, saying that a replacement would be sent from their HQ and would take 4/6 weeks.

So, I decided to get on with the bodyshell.
Two light coats of primer Alcad White.
Then given a light polish with some 3000 grit paper.
I then painted the rear light surrounds and vents.

Tamiya X11 for the reflector , X10 Gunmetal for the vents, they will be given a black wash before sealing under satin varnish. The light surrounds are X18, and the lens X27.

Will post some more when I can.

Looks like you'll have some fiddly masking to do before you apply the yellow, Simon?

It would of been to apply the black/gunmetal George LOL.

I'm away travelling to tropical south China for a couple of weeks now, Simon, might include a trip to Hong Kong, I hear they have some modelling shops there... expect to see this finished by the time I get back!

OK George, but I/we are going away next week.

    Anyhow a quick update.

Engine bay awaits gloss varnish for decals (oh yes).

    Masking completed on the bodyshell.

I hope to get the bodyshell re-primed and base coated before we go of to see our mum.

    Simon.
