Hi @garybrantley, @anthonyricco, @johnb, and @fiveten, thanks for looking and commenting, and, yes, the green is Tamiya’s Candy Lime Green as used on Kawasaki motorbikes. Luckily I just had enough in a spray can to do the wheels and roll cage.

So, on to the brakes. I sprayed all the parts semi gloss black, and added the Porsche logos to the calipers. The surface of the discs are etched which I normally leave unpainted, but these should be painted to represent the carbon ceramic finish, a mix of black and silver, the nearest I had to that was gunmetal, so that was what I went with. Here’s the result:

Not that you can see much behind the wheels:

Plenty more to come, thanks again for looking, and happy modelling.

Hi @garybrantley, @anthonyricco, @johnb, @fiveten, thanks for looking. Although I haven’t posted much recently, I have in fact made some progress with the body work. It’s basically a big lump of resin with some detail bits, grills, vents, lights, etc, to be added.

So, I first deepened the panel lines with my new Tamiya scribing blades, so as to ensure they will still be visible after numerous coats of primer, gloss, and clear finishes.

I followed this with a light sanding, Tamiya 3000 sanding sponge, and a good scrubbing with some of the local alcohol.

Then a coat of Tamiya primer, more light sanding, three or four coats of gloss white from the spray can, let it dry for a couple of days, and apply the transfers (decals).

These came off the backing paper pretty quickly but were not too keen on being adjusted once on the model. They were very thin though.

Again left for a couple of days to dry, and followed by a coat of semi gloss clear from the spray can, this was to protect them before applying any gloss clear.

After another couple of days I applied three coats of clear gloss and left it to dry for a week. Then polished it up with Tamiya finishing polish, and it looks like this.

In the meantime, guess what, Tamiya have announced a kit for exactly the same car!

Oh well, that’s life I suppose.

Plenty more to come, happy modelling.

Hi Spiros @fiveten and John @johnb. Here are the door cards, painted semi gloss black, details in silver and some decals added. Ready to be removed from their lollipop sticks and installed inside the body shell, where they will hardly be seen, I guess that’s modelling.

Thanks again for looking and happy modelling.

    Looks really good, George @chinesegeorge
A pity they will be nearly invisible.

Thanks @johnb and @fiveten. Some work on the interior. The seats and centre console are done. Next were the floor mats. None are provided in the kit. Most people seem to use flock, but I thought that was too heavy, especially in this scale in what is essentially a super light weight car. I discovered some black sandpaper (emery paper?) in my spares box. Five minutes work resulted in a blunt no 11 blade, I added some spare markings, and got these:

A drop of Bob Smith’s and here they are:

That’s all for now, happy modelling.

This is looking really fine, George @chinesegeorge! 👍 Great idea to use the sandpaper too. Your white paint looks flawless from over here in Texas. 😃
