Blairmonster from John Carpenter's "The Thing"
Okay kiddies. How's this for a nightmare inducer. I had more fun painting this darn thing. I had to do a little surgery to it to make it PG13 rated, but that's not really a big "Thing".
This huge lump of resin is over 22 inches tall, but only weighs a couple of pounds due to it being hollw or 'spun' cast. This is actually a sculptors idea of the final monster from the movie, but it was way to cool to pass up at an IPMS show and swap. Enjoy the pictures, if you dare, while I decide which model to post next. Oh, and I did succed in scaring a young viewer at a model show in Nanton, Alberta with this build.
I'll be the first to comment that the Thing is really (scaringly) ugly. Meaning you did a nice job here.
