Thank goodness for being a modeler!

February 27, 2020 · in News · 5 · 0.9K

I just realized that the face mask I bought for modeling last year is an N95, the only one that will give any protection to the coronavirus. Cost me $12. The cheapest one you can find on Amazon now is $25, and they're out of stock till March 13.

Another great reason for being one of those weirdos who plays with plastic toys. 🙂

If you use a mask for painting and such, you might want to check if you, too, lucked out when you bought yours. It could be a lifesaver.

  1. Well, I could agree. I had some left for modeling purposes but snatched some extra for the family a week or two ago. At least I know what to do when this crisis fizzles: More modelling and painting/weathering using leftover face masks!

Other than that, consume the medicine below and feel good all through the Corona days!

  2. I still have a couple of boxes stashed from SARS.

  3. I have 2 and I'm willing to let the second one go for...oh...1 million Canadian dollars...which is about $34.00US

  4. Yes. For sure. I use respirators and face masks with my work. ( cabinet and furniture making ) and modelling. one thing to keep in mind. Especially using acrylic. If you can smell it it’s in your lungs ! Even with acrylic one should use a mask. Lest the paint cure in your Alveoli. Or get or make a spray booth.
Thank you for bringing this up.
