Masking with Kapton Tape
I received a lot of questions and comments on how and why I use kapton tape for masking on the models I build. I wrote up an small article on my site https://davidsscalemodels.com both how and why and placed it in the Tips and Tricks section, at
Nice tip, thanks.
I checked, it is pretty pricy for a little roll, but I think it might be worth a try. Just another weapon in the arsenal of model building tools! A canopy can make or break a build quite easily.
There is a link to Amazon at the bottom of my Tips page for the 4 different rolls of different widths for $10. Tamiya tape id roughly $10 for 2 rolls of less tape.
Buying it at Amazon with Prime. You get 3-4 rolls in various widths at not much coin.
Thanks for the info, David (@davids_models). I hate to sound shallow, but I think the best part about the tape is the color. I have also checked out availability, and I agree that having another tool in the box is cool.
I just went to Amazon and found Kapton tape in a 4-roll bundle with 4 different widths of tape for $10. That doesn't seem any more expensive than Tamiya tape. I ordered some to give it a try.
