This is a 3d printed Smaug, the dragon from the series “the Hobbit”. I painted this with airbrush. An excellent exercise that allows you to acquire new skills.
@carlofar206 - Very cool Carlo! Being able to 3D print your own models is a pretty great thing these days. It is definitely a new challenge to fill the giant seams that sometimes happen. I recently did an Ancient Red Dragon from 'Lord of the Print'. Very cool project but not having any registration pins does make wing parts a challenge to align. Your paint work is great, I think the green on the wings adds some very cool visual interest. I do think the gold could use a bit of a wash to bring out the detail though. All in all, it's a great piece! Love the works of Tolkien!

Thanks Brian, I agree with you about the gold. I will try some washing 😜
Looks wonderful, Carlo! Love it!
Thanks Spiros
Interesting subject, and 3D printing it is even better! You seem to have combined the two for a great end. Nice work on a difficult subject to model.
Thanks Stephen🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
A wonderful result, Carlo @carlofar206
This is serious airbrushing, which you clearly master well.
Thanks John
That is some really nice airbrush work there, Carlo.
Thanks Robert
I’ve no idea what the “real” looks like but this looks really good, your airbrush work is very impressive.
About airbrushing I must improve my skills, I think that the airbrush can make the difference for painting and whethering
A nice rendition of Smaug. To there and back again.
🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
Nice Dragon figure Carlo, the posing helps it very favorably, it is not the usual pose.
