This will be the future model of crashed AirbusA 300DHL. This Airbus crashed while landing at the M.R Štefánik Airport in Bratislava, Slovakia. Scale: 1:144. Old Airfix model kit.
Thank you, Robert! I made the runway area from bookbinding cardboard. I painted the cardboard. To make the paint look like concrete. Finally I sprayed several layers of matt varnish. I sanded the surface with a fine grinder. I finished the surface with a wash.
This is very nice so far and your model looks like my unfinished model that I posted yesterday.
Long ago I found some very fine 8-1/2" x 11" sandpaper at the local hardware store which looks like finished concrete so I used it to represent a concrete ramp for one of my models.
I'll try and find that photo and post it here on iModeler.
Looks good, what material did you use for the tarmac?

Thanks for the info. There appears to be variations in the color of the concrete, did you do something special to cause that?
The photo shows light reflections. This gives the impression of color variations of the surface. In fact, the surface color is uniform.
