Tom B,, nice to see a Spit V with an Abouquir filter. Wonder how many miles speed it added versus the Vokes, which always looked like a goiter to me.

Tom, these posts are fantastic - last night I was sat at the dress rehearsal for the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony and my wife was getting slightly concerned that I was more excited by the arrival of photos of aircraft than the event itself! Looking at these shots of your builds on a computer screen, rather than my phone, I think I was totally justified! And then, just as I was catching up with today's action on iModeler, your Beaufighter pops up and blows me a way again. Absolutely beautiful! Subtly done weathering and really clean building and painting. Thanks so much for these contributions!

Beaufighter X of 27 Squadron, SEAC, 1945. 27 Squadron was first to bring the Beaufighter to SEAC in 1943. There's a good memoir by one of the squadron pilots, "Beaufighters Over Burma."

Dear iModelers, it was with no little excitement that I added Tom Bebout's Spit Vb Trop; Tom Cleaver's Beaufighters and Allan's SB6 to the inventory - these took us past 100 builds between the new and the old sections - a landmark since, of course, it is RAF100 that we commemorate.

The previous builds inventory needs a 1920s aircraft (not the most popular era for aviation modellers I guess, being between the wars) and something from the 2010s .

The New builds section need a 1980s aircraft.

If these do transpire (and I will pick up the 'slack' on the new builds if needed) we will have covered all decades of the RAF in both inventories!

So, please do have a delve into your back catalogues for the previous builds (1920s and 2010s) to see if you can help! If you have a plan to build a 1980s RAF subject anytime soon, even better!

At the outset of the GB, and with standard good fortune over the next 6 months, we really have something fitting in advance of the 15th September reveals! My deepest gratitude to you all.

    Happy modelling!
