After coating the plane with Pledge floor polish (1:1 H2O) I have applied the "Flight Colours" decals.

That was the easy part. Now I have to apply all 500 of the kit stencils. I think I will need a couple of four-hour Dan Carlin podcasts and a lot of IPA (not isopropyl alcohol).

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Dakota (when I last saw it) had two different aircraft liveries, port and starboard. In this scheme, port side is KN456 'Z' from 436 squadron, starboard is KN563 from 436 sqn. In this scheme, the small letter Z is repeated in a larger size behind the wing, but an earlier iteration of the warbird did not have the larger letter, and this is not provided in the decal set.
While the decal set calls for an azure blue underside (which would have looked nice, I chose to go with Medium Sea Gray, as the CWH plane has this colour.
The decal set didn't provide serial numbers, had to scrounge those from a Beaufort set.

This image shows an earlier paint scheme for the CWH plane, with just the small z on the nose. But I could swear that's a black underside!

Excellent job so far, my friend @aldog! Quite a few stencils to apply! Yes, this looks to be a black underside.

    Very nice progress, Aldo @aldog
That amount of stencils will keep you of the street for a while.
    The underside definitely looks black.

Black, blue, medium grey, the color choices are dependent upon the time of day, the day of the month, the whim of the mechanic! 🙂

I guess this is proof positive that interpreting photos for colors is iffy at best. The model looks great so far. Stencils, ah, a device invented by aircraft companies to aggravate future modelers.

I am astounded by the number of stencils that go on your C-47, Aldo @aldog. This will be some very tedious work, especially in 1/72. Good luck!

Did a lot yesterday. Tamiya flat, props, landing gear. Getting ready for a canoe trip today, away tomorrow until Friday. Don't know if I'll have time to weather it before IPMS Toronto TorCon on Friday.

All the additional decals look really nice, Aldo (@aldog). The new age of digital printing allows printing size to be increased and decreased easily without losing clarity. It still boggles the mind that there are decals this small that can be read. Very cool.
