Looking great Spiros, and that detail is correct in regard to the drop tanks left in Grey. These tanks were sent from a squadron of Tornado AD3's the larger "Hidenberger" drop tanks were not painted Desert Pink.. The standard smaller drop tanks were painted the same color as the aircraft. Not all the Tornado's used them, only on strike missions that were going to take them deep into Iraq. Even then the flight would tank up before heading into bandit airspace.

nice and smooth on the outside - and masses of sprue and LqS inside to ensure structural strength - great combo 🙂

Thanks my friends @uscusn amd @airbum!
Thanks for that great info regarding the tanks, Chuck! I just love all these details that arise, and the stories behind them, upon building a model!

    Looks perfect, Spiros @fiveten
    Nice uniform camouflage.
Area wise most of the build is done, now on to those tiny detailed parts.

    Thanks my friend @johnb!
Hope those tiny detailed parts will not make my Tornado falling into the "90% done, 90% more to do" category 🙂

The wing roots "rubbing" areas, as well as the seals were masked prior to painting:

Looks like you had a nice modelling day, Spiros @fiveten
Wondering how these areas will look like at the end.

    Nice progress, Spiros @fiveten
Any specific reason why you waited with cockpit painting till this moment?

When possible, I prefer to paint cockpits at later stages, so I avoid masking.

Onto rendering the (quite a few) aft fuselage heat resistant bare metal areas...

I believe it will take a couple of rounds to finish them all.

    Nice already, Spiros @fiveten
Judging from the small amount of masking tape, I think you did brush paint these sections.
