I am sorry to hear that you had a project turn on you. It has happened to me before too, and I'm sure that most of us here have experienced this at one time or another... Believe me, I totally understand.
(You should see how many projects I have in various stages of completion for this very reason).
Sometimes you just have to take a break from it, and try something else. When the inspiration returns it will be like meeting an old friend.
If you decide to change your mind, you are always more than welcome to return where you left off on the Midway Group Build. Your F4F was a very nice build.
