Yes they were, my friend @chinesegeorge! I remember back in the 70s, where, still, many kits were bagged, examining those bags as they were hanged from the toy shops hangers, trying to figure out the parts contained at those sprues, then dreaming putting the kit together in an afternoon, only if being able to save those little money they would cost.
