@v1pro - you can't go wrong with the Cooper Details resin and the rest for this kit. It won't fix that the airfoil for the wings is upside-down, but it will improve the rest for sure.

Tom @ tcinla, agree on the Cooper Details parts. Roy Sutherland makes some nice replacement parts to improve its overall look. I have some Barracuda parts for future builds. For this build I am going to use the drop tanks, lower wing louvers and spinner/propeller. Years ago Roy used to show up at our club back in the 80’s. He made a Hawk Spitfire Mk.22 and a Matchbox Tempest Mk.II into super looking builds. The improvements he made on the Hawk Spitfire was amazing.

I used a thick twisty and cut a piece from it to extend the tail wheel strut.

Here are the resin parts from Cooper Details. I added the sprue for the spinner's shaft. I cleaned the spinner, propellers and drop tanks. I will also add the louvers to the bottom of the foreword section of the wing roots.

The Yellow was painted for the propeller's tips.
After the spinner was painted red, a quick gloss coat was then added and after it was dry I high lighted the spinner's recessed details with a pencil and Tamiya's Black Panel Line Accent Color.

1st shot showing the area that is the heat exchanger's exhaust louvers.

1st shot before respraying the Sky Type S, I decided to use a black marker to highlight the panels that will get displayed under the Sky Type S paint.

2nd shot same approach done to the bottom. Later when I airbrush the Sky Type S, this should show through some. I can add more paint to hide them or use less to show more.

3rd shot shows the Sharpie marker that was used.

4th shot, is a Yak-1 that was made this past summer using this same approach but the paint was brushed on with two thinned coats of Vallejo paint.
