@fiveten, thanks for sharing that video, Spiros Definitely going to try Tom's and your advice. Seems doable.
👍Just be VERY GENTLE with pinning and slicing the decal and, once softener is applied, do not do anything until dry because the decal is already too compromised due to slicing and will disintegrate by just looking at it, my friend @johnb.
A good advice, Spiros @fiveten, thanks,
Pinning and slicing done gently and applied decal softener a few times afterwards. It did improve a bit but still some silvering is visible. Maybe a couple of rounds more required.
Great that there is an improvement, my friend @johnb!
@fiveten, thank you, Spiros
@johnb How did you cut the holes for the windows?
Do You use clear coat before setting decals?
@lis, after the decal softener dried sufficiently, I cut out the windows using a new x-acto #11 blade. Most of the time I don't apply a clear coat prior to decals, which worked well until now. I think it could have definitely helped in preventing the silvering.
I suggest X-22 Tamiya
Mounted the nose turret and lower transparent parts. Still some cleaning up to do.
Looks excellent so far, my friend @johnb!
Tail turret fits perfectly.
Canopy frames painted manually. Quite challenging I have to say. Fitting is pretty good though. I will leave the advanced fixation for at least a day so that the glue is able to dry sufficiently.
