I started with new thread and I hope somebody join to build with me. October is best month to started build Mustang so at first I started build P-51 from Frantic III fighter-Bomber mission. I bought extra set of 15 AF Mustangs decals. Next (I hope) will be B-17 from Frantic I mission. I still collecting materials for good background. I don’t have any exoerience with chessboard decals, but it looks to be too large on tail. Rest of options ( no.1 and no.2) could be OK. Armia Hobby Kit is gift from my Family. Looks very complex. Number of small decals in cockpit make me headache (I hate technical decals.)

Work going on. However, after being delighted with the construction of the cockpit, the time came for imperfections. I don't know if my model is worse than others according to Murphy's law, but firstly, the windshield section connecting to the engine hood is a bit too high, and secondly, on the right side the cockpit is pushed apart, which visually looks as if the hull was too wide in this place. Next thing is fairing. A terribly thick projection of the injection mold in a very visible place at the top. I even had trouble separating it from the frame with a scalpel and had to use a polystyrene cutter. grinding and collecting the remnants of the injection mold with a scalpel took a lot of time and I'm still not satisfied with the effect. I hope painting will mask it a bit. Fortunately, the masks are included . probably the simpler Hasegawa model doesn't have this problem.

PS. I want to make red stripes on tail so I don’t glue it at this moment.

Looks like you have some assembly adventures, my friend @lis. You are doing a super job, though, overcoming all these nuances and the result looks excellent so far!
    Looking forward to it!
