I used special sheet of markings decals - kits-word brand. I used decal liquid from Tamiya, and next gently with earstick arrange all decals. I used quite a lot decal liquid, but finally decals went into panel lines. Challenging was cutting one edge of decal that was a little too big for stabilisers. On photo You can see mustang after coat of clear. I used semi gloss on tail decals and gloss for rest of the plane.

Unfortunetly I’m very dissapointed with this set. If PE parts are quite good, Resin fuel tanks has big pin marks. Putty didn’t stick to This resin. A lot of Air bubbles i found during sanding. This resin set cost 5 euro. Price are not to high but I’m curious how manufacturer coulg build it. Now I have options to use resin bombs that I build before or 75 gallons tanks from box.

Pity about the pinholes, you might try thick cyanoacrylate glue as a "putty" to close the pinholes, my friend @lis!

I give up with resin set and Finally I used some decals from my box and PE caps and I think that fuel tanks from kit looks acceptable.
