    Antennas are easy to miss, Bernard (@lis). I usually discover their absence when I am taking the photos for Headlines.

    Yesterday Evening I spend on correcting of setting decals. Wolfpak Decals are hard to set with no silvering. I used half of bottle of Micro Sol. Not my best result at this time.

    Capt R. (@lis), the tail stabilizer decals are coming along. They look good and are convincing. The nose decals... you have done a good job of removing the silvering. The carrier film is thick, and you can see the edges with the aid of your camera. The workaround (after the fact) is to cut down the film before using the decal. George on one of his builds shot a Dullcoat that helped hide the edges. I don't recall the name of the product. Perhaps he can enlighten us. On the whole, Capt R. (@lis), things are moving forward.

    About the only clear flat I use is Tamiya Clear Flat, (@lis) (@stephen-w-towle). I will sometimes spray Testor's Dullcote from a can, but only on small parts that I want to protect before weathering.

    @gblair @stephen-w-towle

    I don’t use flat coat because leaves a whitish coating or a "gritty" effect on the model, due to the varnish drying too quickly in the airbrush. I had such an experience with the Tamiya product in particular.

    PS. Painting scheme from manual. I have only objections about de icer boots. In my opinion all surfaces was in NMF. If we Trust manual, also all B-24 H from block higher than 20-FO could have standard closed waist gunner position with plexi.

    Interesting problem, Bernard (@lis). I have occasionally had the clear take on a white frosting, but it was due to painting when it was really humid. I make it a point to check the humidity before I spray clear. For the gritty texture, it sounds like it is drying on the way to the model surface. You might try thinning the clear more with thinner and spray several light layers using a lower pressure. I use Tamiya Clear Flat thinned about 35-50% with Tamiya X-20 thinner. I haven't had any problems since I started watching the humidity and diluting my clear.

    @lis Very interesting decals and they do look great now, great use of that bottle of microsol, lol. Don't see any silvering!
    I tend to stay away from third party decals. Especially after my experience with these awful techmod decals for my Spitfire.

    @gblair „gritty” effect was reduced to minimum when I changed clear coat to MrColor/MrHobbt brand. But effect of whittish coat was sometime after MrColor products.

    @fxrob I

    Always try to find uncommon decals but it is risikly sometime to go into third party decals. Your spitfire was vintage kit? Or modern? Old techmod decals always ripped off without reason. But modern from ArmaHobby kits are acceptable. This Wolpack sheet has also very famoust „The Sandman” Painting. If I find good quality stars I Think I will use rest of this decals from this sheet.

    PS. Always make me crazy if I found piece of dust after final coat of clear. What could I do now?

    A very very light sanding , very gently, might smooth away the sand, my friend @lis. Otherwise, leaving "as is" sounds great too: you can hardly notice the dust.

    Capt R.(@lis) Tamiya sells fine sanding pads and polish for getting rid of dust and smoothing out the paint surface. I borrow my significant other's nail files or sanding sticks with the polishing side for taking out dust and imperfections. Downside for small pieces is that the sanding stick is too wide. George hit the nail on the head; the long-term solution is to thin down the clear coat. I thin down both my paints and the clear coat to avoid the pebble finish that results from using an airbrush. I have also used "Future" or whatever clear floor shine product you can find by brush painting that for my clear coat and afterwards place it under a box to avoid dust. I thin that with water too. Dip the brush in water, followed by dipping the edge of the brush in Future.

    @stephen-w-towle @fiveten
    After sanding by 3000 sandpaper and a little repaint, dust was taken off. Also I checked all decals to look a little bit weary.
    PS. I changed clear to semi gloss H110 and gloss H30 from MrHobby/MrColor and gritty effect was reduced to minimum.
