    I believe the "difference" will be barely (if at all) noticeable, my friend @johnb!
    Per our "Air Force" quote:

    A many will stare, a few will notice...

    Rudder mounted and Revell did some nice work to make it adjustable.

    Another option of this kit is put the flaps in lowered position. To do that you have to cut them from the lower wing. At a later stage you can mount them with struts to the upper wings.
    I thought it would look much better with the flaps lowered so I started the surgery.

    Excellent progress, my friend @johnb! Great idea to lower the flaps, will look more "dynamic"!

    Really nice work, John (@johnb). I think the flaps and rudder will be a nice touch. Remind me which Revell kit this is.

    @fiveten, thank you, Spiros.
    @gblair, thanks, George. This is Revell box 04279 (Memphis Belle).

    Had some struggle with mounting the nose transparency. It does not align nicely with the fuselage. Likely all caused by the builder himself. Need some sanding to make it look a bit smoother.

    After cutting the flaps from the lower wings, a truss (not sure if this is the correct naming) needs to be mounted to the upper wing. This to cover the gap between the upper and lower wing and mount the flaps in lowered position.

    The nose is always a trouble area on a B-17, John (@johnb), especially when the adjacent panels also use clear plastic. Thank goodness clear plastic can be made clear again if you need to sand it.

    Don't blame the builder too much, my friend @johnb! It more seems to be a kit issue. Will look great after some sanding and polishing!
    Truss sounds appropriate here, clear and explanatory.

    @gblair, @fiveten, thank you. I was surprised Revell did use clear plastic for the sides at the nose. LetÅ› see what the sanding brings besides dust.

    I think it will look great when you are done with the sanding and fitting, John (@johnb). I suspect the clear pieces allow for alternate versions of the plane to be made.

    @gblair, you are correct, George. There were clear pieces for two different variants. What I do not undertand is why they have chosen to use clear plastic instead of the regular grey.

    Good question, John (@johnb). Perhaps it is easier to manufacture a large clear piece that includes several small windows than it is to accurately make a very small window? I always worry that I will punch the small windows into the fuselage when I am working with the canopy masks.

    I have malfunction last night. During turret fitting fuselage opened beetwen turret place and cockpit. After ale night work (I finished about three o clock in the early morning) I sanded, glued, and repainted this part. I’m exhaused.

    @johnb Great progress!

    @johnb
    Clear nose usually don’t fits good. Also seam on nose usually needs carefully sanding. But Your work looks pritty good!

    @gblair
    I prefer windows that are mounted from the outside so that they cannot be pushed in. Such a case happened to me with the B-17 Airfix.

    A nasty crack indeed, Bernard @lis
    Despite the late night, you did a great save.
