    still learning about photo size etc,,sorry,,,My fathers crew minus two gunners picked up in the ETO,about to leave S Carolina mid 1944 with a new B17 ,,this airplane flew so badly it wasnt able to be repaired on the way over,,trim trouble and other issues,,gremlins

    my pleasure,,my father kneeling second from left,,'The worlds greatest pilot standing behind",,my father said he saved the crew at least twice,,im not able to remove the duplicate post,,still learning,,

    That airplane flew terribly he said,,new factory fresh,,trim out of adjustment and other issues,,worked on in the azores I believed overnight and then sent them on to N africa,,picked up two gunners and then to Italy,,,,15th af 2nd bmb group,,49th squad,,of course they took the plane and gave them an old hack,,"no new planes for new guys',,,they laughed quite a bit over that one,,glad to see it go
