That's a very good decision on your part regarding the bomb bay doors @johnb, since the Wellington's bomb bay doors hang open on the ground.

@fiveten, thanks a lot Spiros. The molded details provided by Trumpeter do help a lot as well.

@tcinla, thanks Tom. I noticed this indeed while searching the net. Do you know if this was an automatic mechanism or done on purpose.

@johnb - I'm not sure of the mechanism, but I think it had to do with the engines being on. when off, the doors opened.

@tcinla, that sounds very plausible. Engines off, loss of hydraulic pressure.

Main landing gear bays mounted in the lower half of the wings.
I'm thinking of leaving out the landing gear doors for the time being to make painting a bit more easy.

Fuselage is closed as well. Fitting was quite nice and the turrets could be placed easily as well. A bit of force required to close the chin on the front.

    Nice progress, my friend @johnb!
Yes, leaving the doors off might be helpful in painting!

nice wheels. Did You sand them to flat surface that connect with ground?

@lis, thank you, Lis. The wheels are indeed sanded to have flat surface. To me it looks a bit more realistic this way and is easy to achieve.

It looks like that fuselage fits good togeather. Did you need some sanding or filling?

@lis, it did fit pretty nice, Lis. A little bit of force at the lower nose part, I used CA glue for that, but for the rest no filling required. Just a bit of clean-up to be done from glue remains.

Horizontal stabilizers attached and again the fitting was great, no seams at all.

Also the engine covers come on very nicely.

Front edge of the wings did require some clean-up, likely because I didn't line up the two halves correctly.

Mounting the wings is done with a sort of click mechanism. It looks pretty simple, but I'm in doubt if it will work. I have the idea that it will create seams at the wing to fuselage connection. Maybe glueing them straight to the fuselage is a better approach. Anyone who has experience with this 'click' approach and how it turns out?
