    Decaled...

Decals went on relatively easily, the I registration was so so (white and yellow look OK, blue and red a tad light, red lines intruded the blue at the center of the insignia - luckilly not so evidently!).
    Next is weathering.
    Thanks for stopping by!

Spiros@fiveten - not only did I stop by, but I had to slam on the brakes and stay awhile. Despite what people say about HobbyCraft kits, I have developed a soft spot for them over the years. With a little modification here and there like you’ve done, HobbyCraft models can look darned good when finished. Your Otter is going to be right up there with the best!

You slipped one in on me, Spiros (@fiveten). I completely missed this build till now, and this is one of the planes I have always liked. When I lived in El Paso, in Texas, these planes would come through the army airfield all the time. I would bet they were fun to fly. Well done.

Thanks my friend @eb801! Yep, that's exactly how I feel about Hobbycraft kits.

Thanks my friend @gblair! Looks like this beautiful plane was a true workhorse, as well.

I'd forgotten you were working on this @fiveten. You've taken a so-so kit and definitely gotten more out of it than was there in the box.

    Final construction...

The front cowling was trapped between the engine and prop and attached.

The exhausts were also attached after being painted silver/burned metal outside/inside.

The distinctive pitot was attached, whereas beforehand I had to cut the front part, rotate it 180 degrees and re-glue, as it was molded upside down!

No kit info is given regarding the shoulder antennas, though a DF loop is provided at the kit 9but not shown at the instructions!). By netting, I figure out that the DF was almost always worn, together with a small mast in front and, usually, a bigger further front. I thus attached the DF and fabricated a small mast out of stretched sprue. Here is the Otter at the moment...
