Thanks my friend @johnb! Yep, lots of sanding sessions, and really glad that my Hurricane was "dusted off"!

    Some progress...

The radiator housing aft area was totally void of anything! To busy it up I modified the leftover rear engine mounting plate by opening up its protruding section and attached a piece of mesh from the rear. The piece was then filed to shape and attached at the rear section of the oil cooler housing...

The prop hub presented significant gap at its rear plate joint, which was treated with liquefied styrene. All three blades presented sink marks at their rear faces, so they were puttied... Another filling round is on, to cater for the discrepancies discovered... Thanks for stopping by!

Quite some corrections required on this one, Spiros @fiveten
The usage of the mesh is a nice addition.

Thanks my friend @johnb! Intetestingly, the more I (kind of...) correct some if the kit's shortcomings, the more I become strangely attached to it! 🙂

I'm late to the party, I've seen these old Hurricanes built up with some TLC and modeling skill and Spiro's it looks like "El Cheapo" is onto something. Its a matter of perspective. Love the history lesson on Greek pilots flying the Hurricane and I hope you can provide more information on the subject.

    Thanks my friend @stephen-w-towle!

A good amount of info seems to exist regarding Greek pilots flying the Hurricane (and the Spitfire, and others) in the Middle East. I am planning to provide such info soon (together with a "Greek" Hurricane build maybe?).

I have this painting in my hobby room...

It represents the first kill of the Greek 355 Squadron in the Middle East. Second Lieutenant Ioannis Anagnostopoulos, flying the FG-E Hurricane, shot down an Emil at 29 October 1942. FG stood for Fighting Greeks.

The wings are not totally correct for a IIC, since they do feature the top bulges for the cannons (correct), but als have not got rid of the oblique top and bottom panel lines that are reminiscent of the MKI wing, where these wings have originated from. I could not resist the temptation and decided to get rid of them: first I scraped them off with a flat hobby knife...

...and then carefully sanded the panel areas smooth... The result, though definitely not puristic (rather crude, might I admit), is preferable than the offending oblique "wrong" lines...

The radiator and desert filter were also attached.

    Thanks for stopping by!

This is a nice step to show the correctness of this beautiful aircraft, Spiros @fiveten
    Great progress.

Could not live with the "triangular" shaped "wrong" panel lines...

    Some progress...

The exhausts were crudely molded as part of the top engine cover: they were detached, filed to shape, drilled out, their "supporting" frame (basically what was left once detached from the top engine cover) was reinforced with two styrene plates and painted burned metal. Here they are...

The landing gear under preparation... ...The cannons were also cleaned up... ...and some final puttying, aaiting sanding, before heading to the paint shop... Thanks for stopping by!
