You treat this oldie of a kit in pure excellency, my friend @j-healy! Looking forward to see it coming together!
Good preperation for the big steps, John @j-healy Looking forward to the next step.
I painted the interior and engines and assembled the fuselage and wings. I used a promedeler decal instrument panel fir an F4U-4, suitably trimmed to fit the panel I made. Tape belts painted gray. Simple old time modeling.

Great progress, John @j-healy The interior and engines look beautiful.
Great old times modeling, my friend @j-healy! Looks amazing so far!
@j-healy: Nice to see all these old classics finding new life here on iModeler lately. Your Maryland is off to a great start. Have you test fit that Falcon canopy yet?
Not yet on the canopy, Eric. I’ll wait until the fuselage is sanded and ready. These older kits are worth another look.
Looking good! The kit reminds me of Frogs old B-25 kit.
Thanks, Robert. This is a decent old model. I never saw their B-25. I did build a Frog B-26 when I was a kid. That one reminds me of the Frog Baltimore. Neither are very good. The later Frog kits were pretty nice, but they were scarce on the ground in Chicago. We had loads of Airfix and Heller kits but for some reason Frog was hard to find. I really wanted that Buccaneer! Never got it, LOL.
Big progress today. A basically complete airframe and vac clear parts cut out. As you can see, they’re a huge improvement. Now to adjust them to fit …….

Those Vac pieces are so much better looking than the Frog kit clear pieces. Nice and clear.
It’s hard to resist saying “you’re turning a Frog into a prince“!
The vac transparencies look impressive indeed, my friend @j-healy! Hope they will not give you many issues and fit well!
You can absolutely call that a big improvement, John @j-healy Good luck on getting them on nicely.
Massive improvement!
Nice progress on the Maryland, John. You are obviously skilled in getting the vac clear parts cut away cleanly and prepped (something I am not so good at). Vac canopies have a way of making 1/72 kits look as finely detailed as 1/48. Since you did the fine interior work on belts and IP, it is good to be able to show it off.
