About this Group
I wonder if the events of the past year have inhibited us from modeling aircraft from the Eastern Front in World War II?
I've recently gotten several kits from eastern European companies and so it seems perhaps there is now a need for this group - and maybe others will get the idea too.

Oh, yes, my friend @johnb! Never mess with Airacobras 🙂
-
Clearly sufficient weight, Spiros @fiveten It's always good to check up forehand.
-
Yes I did, my friend @tcinla. In fact, I stuffed quite a lot in there. Here she is, nicely leaning forward with the CG well in front of the MLG attaching points, rear moving surfaces placed in the back to […]

I hope you put weight in the nose before you closed up that little hatch on the top of the nose that was good for dropping in weights, @fiveten.
-
Thanks my friend @johnb! Hope to apply the underside gray tomorrow.
-
Time flies, Spiros @fiveten Glad you continued to work on this Airacobra.

Wow! 14 months already passed🤔 Anyway, here she is, still fighting with the phantom seams, this time at the starboard wing leading edge...

-
Indeed, my friend @johnb, especially when dealing with a limited run kit...
-
My least favorite acitvity, sanding, Spiros @fiveten
-
Sanded smooth, together with her sisters, still filling and sanding to go... Thanks for stopping by!
-
Thanks my friend @coling! Indeed, painting the cockpit at late stages offers the advantages you mentioned. The SH kit needed some attention to the oil cooler air inlets at the wing leading edges and, to a lesser […]

Thanks my friend @johnb! Indeed, the size difference is impressive!
-
Looks great so far, Spiros @fiveten. The SH kit seems to fit pretty well apart from a bit of putty here and there. I like your approach to getting the fuselage together before painting the cockpit floor and […]

Those air exits do look much better this way, Spiros @fiveten Quite impressive to see the dimension differences in 1/48 and 1/32
-
I added some mesh to the otherwise bland "exits" of the radiator and oil cooler air exits... here are the louvers attached, partly open for more dynamic looks...and here she is puttied, together with her […]

Thanks my friend @johnb!

Nicely progressing, Spiros @fiveten
