And you were doing so well, too, but, I thought these were Airfix kits, so why Tamiya decals?. Am I missing something here? Anyway, I'm sure you are more than experienced enough to overcome this glitch, you are are both making good headway and should easily meet the October 31st posting date, which also happens to be Halloween!

Although I am a fan of Tamiya kits, I have never been much of a fan of their decals. I have always had various difficulties with Tamiya decals until I finally decided to just go with an aftermarket source. Your and Rose's progress on your respective kits is wonderful to view, I doubt either one of you will be set back by a little decal glitch. Keep it coming mate.

Simon, if you need any of the kit decals, you're more than welcome to the ones I didn't use. Have the full set for the 92 Squadron airplane and some of the stencils.

Both models are looking great, can't wait to see the final results!

Sorry, folks, I should have read the beginning of your post, now I see it's a Tamiya kit. In my experience there are two kinds of Tamiya decals, namely good and not so good. The good ones are really good and are produced by Cartograf, and this is normally displayed clearly on the box lid. The not so good ones are Tamiya's own, and are probably best avoided...

No worries about decals, found enough in my/our spares box, they might not have used on this particular plane but they are for a Spitfire anyhow.
Other than that just about finished masking the Gladiator.
Next time I am going to leave the wing structs off until the masking is done.

Hope to post some pics later over the weekend.

    Well as promised, an update.
Rose`s Spitfire is nearing the home straight now.
Decals were a pain, hence no walkway stencils etc, I wish Tamiya had decent decals.
I know that they do go to Cartograph now.

All to be added is wheels , prop, and radio mast plus a coat of satin varnish.

The Gladiator is coming along, as the pics show, still a lot to do but getting there.

Other than that , not a lot to add.

It`s an old old Aston Martin an Airfix kit, the kit is c**p but I use the bodywork for testing paints out when spraying.
I have recently been having a bit of bother with the air brush.
Could be time for a new one, see what Father Xmas brings?
And yes we do build together. A bit of bonding they say.

Lady Rose your Spitfire is looking grand. Will she retire now until the "Grand Reveal" at the end of October?
Simon, what's the airbrush doing to you, I'm sure somebody here can help you trouble shoot it. Although it is always good to give Father Christmas as much lead time as possible on "big ticket" items..lol

Just to report in that her Ladyship has finished her Spitfire.
After a carpet monster moment when the radio mast mast went a flying, a hunt through the spares found the nearest we could find and she stuck it on.

Pics have been taken but are being held on file until unveiling day.

Both the Spitfire and the Gladiator are looking really sharp. Wish I was as far along with my Hurricane as you and Lady Biggles are with your projects. I look forward to the unveiling.

Beautiful job, Lady Biggles! Looking forward to the reveal. Am I mistaken, or are those markings from the movie "Battle of Britain"?

Well done Lady Rose, you and Simon have built a fine pair of fine models and I look forward to seeing them on Halloween.

I am not sure about the markings Jaime, they were liberated from the spares box, they looked about right so they went on.
I have still a lot to do on the Gladiator but hope to play catch up soon.
Nothing is worth rushing if you want a good job Seamus, and looking at your build it is going to be worth it.

Well after the last weekend working, I got on with the Gladiator.
A couple of light coats of gloss varnish.
Then the start of the rigging.
I am going to let these dry before tidying up around this area because I can see it being a pain to do later.
I am using 0.12 dia fishing line.

Hope to get more done tomorrow.
