Simon, it is clearly "cheating" to start your rigging without the upper wing installed. πŸ˜‰
Looking forward to seeing her finished mate.

Fourth rule of model building - if you can't get it done the "normal" way, cheat!

Besides, it's only cheating if you get caught... πŸ™‚

Great start to your rigging Simon. What glue are you using to attatch the fishing line?

The reason I started the rigging was to make it easier to clean up.
It is still a b**d but fun.
Well the wing is now on and setting, hopefully not much remedial work there.
Gregor, I am using super glue for the attachments of the fishing line..
    So far so good.

Well the rigging of the wings is nearly done, just awaiting the glue to set.

It was fun I must admit but also I have learned a few things out.

The holes need to be a bit smaller and also the soldering iron can be your best mate in sorting out drooping wires...

The heat is enough to shrink the plastic line enough to tension with some control.

All that needs to be done is to give it a haircut and fill all the little holes, ho hum.

Will do that tomorrow hopefully and rig the tailplane.

Work at the weekend means no time at the board and on Monday we are off to meet our son for the day, so not much can be done until Tuesday.

It's looking very neat, Simon, I bet you never thought you'd be able to rig a biplane, I can only guess what you might build next. By the way, I'm surprised the site censor allowed that four letter (w---) through!

Well done Simon, looks great. Just one thing; I thought the floatation bags were yellow and were on both sides.. πŸ˜‰

Great work Simon, rigging scares me off biplanes but you've made it look easy, well done πŸ™‚

Cheers all, the rigging was a challenge to be met so I faced it.
The flotation bags are an optional extra on the luxury editions, and have colour options to match the interior decor.
As for the W... word sorry...
Not sure when she will be finished but hope to be nigh on done by next weekend, hopefully.

So Simon are you saying your Gladiator has the "fun bags" option? Perhaps it would be best if you didn't get it anywhere near the crew on Neil's rescue boat πŸ˜‰

    A quick update.

While trying to fill the holes in the wings, one of the cabane structs came loose, taking out a rigging line, b****r.

So have re-fixed said struct and replaced the line.

So back to reality. have decided to leave the rest of the holes as I cannot be bothered to do any more rigging.

It has been a learning time but I have found out maybe the hard way how to rig bi-planes.

Smaller and more accurate holes drilled.

And more precise use of C/A. for a start.

    Will post later.

Simon after all that work, i know it must frustrate you to no end to be 99% finished and have something like that happen. In fact, I know it all to well in my own experience. Regardless, I'm still looking forward to seeing your Gladiator, and of course Lady Rose's Spitfire.

Hi Simon, great job on the rigging, sometimes modelling is not always straight forward, to fix selfmade accidents is a challenge for itself. Good luck and as Rick said i am looking forward to your Gladiator and your ladys Spitfire as well.

    Disaster time...
This is what has happened to the engine cowling!
F* it... I hope that I can get this sorted, I used C/A glue B****s...
Rant over, the plane itself is now ready for glossing and decaling.
Hope to make deadline, fingers crossed.
