Keep plugging away Gregor. So far so good.
Do you know what brand of tractor that is: Bedford?

Dunno if its a Bedford?! I'll check the instruction sheet. Theres usually a potted history on the front sheet. For an old kit these two models went together very well, particularly the tractor. A lot of the old style Airfix have vague instructions for their small scale military kits.

Gregor, looks like you are making good progress on all the accessories, so your procrastination on the tower has clearly been put to good use..;-). On the tower interior, if it was me, I would cobble up a "generic" interior based of of the plans and pictures, to fit the doors and windows on the tower. Eg WX office, lav, duty office and ready room on the ground floor. Radio, flight control, and somebody's office on the 1st floor, then radios, WX instruments and binoculars in the observation room on the roof. Or something like that.

And since I'm forever coming across wrong on the 'net, Gregor I'm not criticizing your work or ideas, I'm just offering up some thoughts on how I'd address building the interior that might be useful to you.

Gotcha Rick, and thanks for the suggestions. I'm always happy to receive comments on any of my stuff and i'm gratefull for the help. I'll bash on with some internal walls next, then on to a bit of "decoration"!

Well folks, progress with the control tower has been dead slow and stop. Here is a few shots of what i've been up to in the little time i've been at the bench lately - school summer holidays have demanded my spare time entertaining the kids!

I have started making walls for the internals using plastic card. The ground floor partitioning is underway but not complete. Door ways have been formed in the main corridor but i've still to put in partitions either side of the corridor walls. I think i've used plastic card which is a bit too thin as once the glue has cured they are bending a bit. I'll stiffen these up with plasic rod, and once glued to the main walls they should look ok. I have also started glazing the small window panes using Humbrol Clearfix, which is fine but a bit hazyonce dry. For larger glazed areas i'm using food packaging.

I have also posted a couple of internal shots i found on the net which shows the utilitarian finish to these structures - note the steel I beam in the restored picture and surface mounted service ducts. I dont plan on adding a lot of detail in the various rooms as not much will be seen through (most) of the windows.

Gregor, looks like your moving things along. I don't think you are going to be happy with those windows. The Clearfix is letting you down. Have you given any thought about cutting the battens out of windows, putting in a piece of food packaging then adding new battens made out of strip stock or thin sliced tape. I'd draw the conduit on the walls & ceilings or are most thin fuse wire. I think you are right about not getting carried away with the interior, but you do want people to be able to see it.

Well enough of my yapping, I'm going to shut up and what what you do your thing.

As Bert Large, of Doc Martin fame says, "I'll go with the flow"

Well, at least your making progress which is more than I can say for myself & I don't have any reason not to. The building is larger than I thought. Are you using the mat to keepbit square?

Rick, thats a good idea about the windows. I'm not half way through them yet so i'll give it a go and see how it looks. The hazy ones can be for the toilets! i'm not scratch building wc's, and wash hand basins 🙂 !

Al, it is a bit of a problem keeping things square as the wwalls flex without the rest of the external structure, which i need to leave ou just now while I do the internal stuff. The mat is the only clear space on my work bench - thats why I take wip pics on it!

Gregor I'm beginning to suspect that you are stalled on this build like I am on my H-75A or are you finishing it on the sly.

You got me Al, i've hit the wall but hope to get going again soon. Got bored trying to fit/paint internal walls on the GF. I'm getting there tho...slowly!

Hey mate keep plugging away, just do a bit more each day even if you only spend ten minutes at a time, before you know it - it will start to take shape and your interest will return, you picked an interesting subject which will certainly add another dimention to the overall G/B.

Jeeze, time flys when your having fun right?! Didn't realise its been so long since I did much with this build. Work, and family life have slowed me right down but I am following Neil's advice and doing a little as often as I can. I had to redo the internal walls with thicker plastic card. The first attempts were too shoogly, and bent somewhat. The GF walls are now fitted and painted and in place, and i've started fitting the GF windows. Having test fitted the upper floor plate/ceiling I can tell you you can't see anything through the windows and doorways, its just too dark. I'm now debating what to add on the main floor internals while finishing the glazing on the windows, which has been really tedious. I'll take some pictures of whats what shortly and post them up. Just don't expect to see anything too exciting!

Glad to see your still plugging away Gregor. BTW, what is the translation on "shoogly"?
