Yes Rick, it`s a lovely view, across to the Isle of Wight.
Also being a Naval port a lot of ships, well not as many as there use to be anyhow.
And no Bob, Rose did not throw me out of the window, yet !
They caught the guy and he due in court at the end of the month.
But I did notice that the stays to the centre line fuel tank had snapped, oh well out with the heat stretched sprue and make a couple to replace them.

Too bad he didn't fall on his head from there and become a nominee for a Darwin Award. (I have such a low pain threshold for moron stupidity)

    Up date...
I have decided that enough is enough, so I started to apply the base coat Tamiya X11.
With not long to go until D.Day I had get motivated so hope to get the first stages by the weekend.
Next coat will be dulled down a tad as to represent a worn look to the nmf undersides.
But I have touched around here and there with some masking fluid, just little spots here and there.
Will post some more after the weekend.

Hi all, well not a lot has been done.
Dabbed some masking fluid here and there.
Then sprayed some X11 with a dash of XF20 added.
Also given the whole plane a light polish with the trusty micro mesh pads.
Next up is the upper surfaces, then the I.D. Bands on the wings plus the black on the fuselage.
I am going to be pushed but hope to get her done on time.

Well done Simon, I look forward to seeing the upper colours on this one as the "pattern" for the camo is not standard such as applied to RAF machines is it?

You are right about the pattern Gregor.
Seeing the one posted by Paul recently it will be fun.
Today , so far I have managed to do a bit more on her.
not much but getting there slowly though.

    Simon.

Thats the ticket Simon - nice and easy does it, I have a tendancy to rush things especially when they are going well, so you are doing the best thing. I look forwar to more pics in due course.

Well here it is as of now.
Engine done all but a coat of varnish.
    Pylons and Bombs primed..
And the plane masked and splattered with masking fluid, ready for next colour.
Which will be Ocean grey XF 83.
    Question though.
Did the bombs carried by the T.Bolts have a yellow ring around the nose.

    Will update soon.

I am no expert on the subject of underwing ordinance but, from what I can see, most 500lb bombs used during WWII had a yellow stripe around the front and rear. I do not know what the purpose of those stripes were but I have read that they had something to do with marking the center of gravity. Personally, I would put the stripe on the front and be done with it.

Simon, I got this image off Mesh Works website and it shows the standard markings for a 500 pounder. In 1/48th scale the stripes are approximately 1mm in width.
