I feel like Steve Martin in "The J**k", but instead of the "new phone book's here, the new phone book's here", I'm jumping around saying "the new model kit is here, the new model kit is here...".

I ordered this resin kit on 3/18/19 and got it today on 4/22/19.

I unpacked the Wespe Models 1/48 scale Ford 917T. Not a bad kit, some small bubbles. I'm not going to use the rear shelter box marked with the red "X"s.

Fuuuuuuu... just made the mistake of reading this thread, and now I'm... donegonenuts along with David. Figuring it's Jaws, but not the precise scene (haven't watched it in ages).

Anyway, when I read the title, first thought was this...

That would be Spielberg IN a shark's mouth LOL

You see, I thought that too, with the thread title - and isolated the scene where Quint sails along the channel in Amity/Martha’s Vineyard...see below. With that New England architecture.

But, how does that old Ford fit into this? It doesn’t. The Jaws thing is a red herring (pardon the pun) in my opinion.

    Stumped.

Another clue or is this a red herring? Steven Spielberg directed Empire of the Sun. There is a scene with the 23rd Fighter Group in China. The 23rd had some P-51s with shark mouths.

I was thinking that too, but this is the P-51 seen in the movie.

    I like your style Michael!
However, I think it is the scene where wild Bill lands his P-40 in Death Valley for Gas.
The gas station sells ice and the Ford truck is in the background.

You guys are quite the sleuths and I don't mean the movie, Sleuth. But wasn't it fun watching the P-51 flying scene in Empire of the Sun looking for a shark mouth P-51, although Tex Hill did fly one with the 23rd.

112 squadron Michael, famous for sharkmouths first with P-40's and then Mustangs. Not in the PTO though!
Thanks for the pretty puzzle you set us -looking forward to the completed diorama.
    And yes it was!

I really looked into ‘1941’ - but couldn’t find a correlate for the the old Ford and buildings.
