To follow along with the other Focke Wulf fighters I have recently started working on, this model will be constructed along with the others. From what I can gather so far, this aircraft may or may not have actually been completed before WW2 ended. I will have to do some more research into this to clarify this statement.

If anyone here knows for certain about the history this one, please feel free to add your comments.

This is a kit I have had in the stash for several years and it has been calling my name for almost as long... 🙂

So now I am finally pulling the trigger on this one. It will be built in my usual "Iron Werke" assembly line style of building models.

Please follow along as we head down that road. 🙂 So far I have painted the exhaust. These are among my favorite German fighters.

As always, comments are encouraged. Thanks !

    Nice choice Louis! @lgardner

I don’t think this version was actually delivered to frontline units (might be stand corrected since I’m talking by memory alone) but it looks a very good companion to his high-altitude brother, the Ta-152 H.

One thing all C versions kits have wrong is the annular frontal section of the cowling. HB depicts it as a fully closed section when in fact it was not. Quickboost and other AM companies have replacement parts to correct this. Not so obvious but still not so very well depicted are the propeller blades and nose. Again resin replacements are easily available should you choose to.

Looking forward to see this one built Louis… perhaps I feel enthusiastic enough to join in with my C-0 kit 😉

I know the feeling of a kit yelling from the stash. . . .

    Strapped in.

This is a "whiffer." Planned but not produced. So far as anyone knows, there were (maybe) 4 prototypes completed and flown before the Russians overran the factory.

I've done the kit (in it's prototype incarnation) and it's like all the other HB Fw-190s: basically accurate and no hassle in assembly.
