    G’day Louis (@lgardner),

The V10 served both as a prototype, being the second example of the redesigned B series, and as the second pre-production aircraft of the B series (the BV 141B-02).

From the few photos of the type, the A series were all over RLM 02, but the B series were camouflaged in the standard bomber colours of RLM 70/71/65.

There is a photo of a wrecked B-1, the eighth of ten produced (WNr 0210018, GK+GH) which appears to be a single light colour on top. This is the second option in the kit, with RLM 02 over 65.

Looks fantastic, Michael (@michaelt). WW2 black and white photos can be very hard to interpret, but I think your colors are spot on. I wonder what it would have been like to have flown this plane. Asymmetric planes must have been a handful.

    Almost there!

Great progress and spot on details I think. Looking forward to the next coat and masks comin' off.

The prop axle just slots into the engine and doesn’t have a a backing. So, I drilled a hole in a thin piece of plastic card and glued it in place. Some of the glue must have gotten through because thd prop doesn’t spin as freely as I’d hoped.

She is on her legs now.

I’ve weathered the port wing a little, but feel it needs a bit more.

The walkway to the right of the cabin has been outlined in red. The one good set of photos showing the walkway is of the V17 and this is quite worn, as is the trailing wing root next to the fuselage, and I’m contemplating how to replicate this look.

The engine is not glued in place yet, although the exhausts are, because I will be spraying some exhaust stains and it will be easier without it in place.

Hobby Boss moulded 16 exhaust stacks but the BMW 801 is a 14 cylinder engine.

So, after quite a bit of research I came up with this:

I managed to identify 13 exhausts (numbered 1-6 and 8-14 on the above picture) but wasn't sure about the last one, so added the one numbered 7. I cut off most of the exhausts and arranged them as you see in the picture.

Now, I have found this picture:

Here is a close up of the engine:

It looks to me that the 7th exhaust is on it's own and a bit more central than I placed it, and is probably close to the one I cut off. So, I cut number 7 off again and repositioned it. Fortunately, I haven't painted the exhaust stains yet.

Good catch, Michael (@michaelt). It wouldn't be a fun build if there wasn't something to fix at the end. Looking awesome.

She is pretty much done now. I may dust a little mud on the wheels and dust on top when I find my weathering set.
