    Looking wonderful my friend @airbum! Really, the decals' thickness is invisible from here. Looking forward to your progress!

    Indeed a nice 'Frenchie' 109, Erik @airbum
    Was not aware that the French did capture one.

    @holzhamer, @fiveten and @johnb, as always thank you for comments and observations.
    After the trouble with the AM decals, the Wingsy were almost into the other ditch! In a pleasent way that is – they are ultra thin, and slips off the backingpaper with ease after just a short dip!

    STENCILS!

    Time to add some more decals, this time it is the kit-stencils.

    I started with the walk-ways, and almost got into trouble as they are ultra-thin, but a bit of feddling and Micro fluids did save the day

    A tiny bit out of sync – the sauerstoff is spot on, but on the same clear as the power-socket, and one has to decide where to make it perfect (or cut the decal next time)

    The rivets are still a bit too deep for my liking, but that can easily be corrected on the next build by more primer and sanding.

    apart from the splendid thickness, the stencil texts are very small and easily readable through a magnifier! Actually I think they are a tiny bit better than another major 109-supplier’s decals!

    next up – could it be matt clear and some last details? But first a few touch-ups.

    @airbum

    I subscribe your opinion about the decals in the box regarding their quality, they are sharp, with great definition and as you, I did not found them thick, quite the opposite, they settled down nicely on the surface details and leave no trace of carrier film.
    As for their size all I can say is that many kit makers that provide stencils are usually quite oversized for German fighters. Even some AM decal brands suffer that same issue!

    As for the rivets, well if it’s too much for your taste then some MrSurfacer 1500 spray will help 😉
    Now let’s see if it’s completed on your next update !?!

    PS hoping for that E-7 version after the summer…

    Stencils do look great, Erik @airbum
    So small and still readable.

    Thanks gents.

    @holzhamer, I left out the "locked" (ZU) marks as they are large compared to scale - even though they are the smallest I recall to have had. Indeed more primer next time (Tamiya usually, perhaps 2-3 layers with sanding inbetween)

    As for the E-7, it is still not on their webpages (I'm not on FB where they probably have announced them?) but will be a nice addition to the range!

    @fiveten, @johnb and @holzhamer, finally another update on this one;

    Break a leg!

    There’s a first time for everything.

    Actually it had its matt-clear a few months ago – I just forgot to post the pictures, so here goes

    I also removed the masks at that time, and it went back into the build-box, waiting for details. It came out for the Molotow Chrome frenzy, and put back in the box again.

    Today I took it from the box, and lo-and-behold, it had broken a leg! That was likely to be because of a sudden shift of the box, as it sat among some sprue.

    Well, I drilled a pair of holes, inserted a length of tube and CA’ed it all in place. While at it I added brakelines and wheels with CA. Then some RLM02, and it is a little closer to home

    next up will it be finished? Fingers crossed that it will!

    I always admire the skill of people that drill a minuscule surface with tiny drills, such as the one you got there Erik, and get a brass/steel tube fit inside without fuss. It sure looks deceptively easy but for my poor eyes and drills it’s quite a challenge. Bravo @airbum!
    Looks very good indeed my friend

    Great save, my friend @airbum! I wish my first day for NOT breaking a leg at one of my models will come... 🙂

    You performed a great save, Erik @airbum.
    With the tube in it, it will be even more solid than the original one.
    Looking great with the masks off.

    Thanks gents. I was actually surprised how easy it went! First drilling the wing-part, it looked off-center, so I enlarged it a little, then drilled the leg, dry-fitted the assembly, shortened the tube as it was 0,5mm too long, lots of CA and presto - it was a total success!

    I think the Wingsy plastic is a little more brittle than the usual suspects on my desk, so I shall happily continue to add legs at an early stage of my builds.

    OK - on to paint the slats and exhausts (brakelines and doors has been added), then some touch-ups, and it is almost there.
