    This is amazing, Keith @greenterrorz
    A display on itself.

    Thank you @johnb @fiveten

I learned a valuable lesson two nights ago. Never use a cigar torch to make a piece more pliable… I completely disfigured a section of the nose/wing on the D-9…

Never fear though. I cut that piece away and replaced with many many small pieces of sprue and added Tamiya putty.

Through many hours of sanding, scribing, and adding rivets back... I think I have fixed it. Along the way I also had to completely remove the cockpit and engine... Really went through some emotional trauma tonight and contemplated tossin it in the trash lol

Such things happen, my friend @greenterrorz Great remedy, though, never toss anything!

Most lessons are learned the hard way, just like yours, Keith @greenterrorz
You did an amazing job in recovering in reshaping the wing root.

    Thank you both! @johnb @fiveten

Definitely going through the “when life gives you lemons” scenario.

A-7 had significant issues with all the extra aftermarket parts I added.

I cut the wings to fit the gun bays exactly as directed by the Eduard instructions. Unfortunately, that seems to be wrong 😑

To fix this issue, I first shoved some sprue wedges in there:

Next I cut the wedges down to the right size:

Lastly I added a good amount of Tamiya putty:

    D-9 with A-7

I took detailed photos of the rivets and panel lines which I’ll be adding back once I sand down all that Tamiya putty. I’ll be glad to get past the building stage and onto the paint stage on these.

You corrected the issue nicely, Keith @greenterrorz
Unbelievable that the instructions are off so much.

Oh, my! This build is fighting you, my friend @greenterrorz 🙁
No big deal for your excellent skills, though, all looks excellent so far!
Looking forward to your next steps!

Well, I’ve done just about everything I could to get this A-7 into decent shape. All the putty has been sanded flat, panel lines put back in, and rivets added back. It required a substantial amount of sanding as you could imagine.

As it stands, both Fw will be on their way to paint by this weekend.

No signs left of the incident, Keith @greenterrorz
Not the most pleasant work but the result is superb.

Sorry to hear you had so much trouble with that Keith (@greenterrorz). When these sort of things happen to me (and they do, more often than I care to think about), I tend to step away, then tackle it in small bites at a time. Each bite is calculated to make it easier to do the next small bite or to give me a feeling of accomplishment. I've learned the hard way that trying to fix it all in one go usually ends badly for me.

Anyway, it looks like you've recovered from the experience and I am sure once it's all painted, you feel even better.

    Thank you @clipper @johnb @fiveten

I discovered a new fitment issue with the D-9 and sorted it out:

    Both planes pre-shading complete:

I threw together this cart and barrel for the diorama as well:

    Great correction done, Keith @greenterrorz
Pre-shading is done nicely as well, looking forward to the camouflage.
That fuel cart is really amazing, so tiny and still very detailed, well done.

I somehow missed your massive project, Keith (@greenterrorz). The 190 looks great, and all of the parts for the diorama will really make a memorable diorama.
