The fuselage fitting is not that nice on this kit. I did various dry fittings but nothing works really well. I decided to at least make the cowling fit nicely and continue work from there. This however means that on the top as well as on the bottom a large gap needs to be filled on the fuselage. On the net I read that this is a common issue on this kit.

Mounting the wings went well. No fit issues this time.

Also no gap visible at the wing roots.

John, one way to easily overcome those gaps (more like canyons taking the scale in consideration) is to cut some plastic sheet squares with the measure of the plastic edges and glue them together (in case your plastic sheet is thinner than the gap) until you got the desired width to fit the gap. Then glue it with liquid glue and sand to size.

As you know 1/72 is not my usual scale but I’m keen in seeing your Wurger completed

@holzhamer, thanks a lot, Pedro. Not my usual scale for single engine aircraft either, nevertheless it is a great kit, except for those gaps, to work on. Your idea sounds like a very good approach, definitely going to try that. Thanks.

Horizontal stabilizers and rudder attached. The rudder was placed with a small angle to make it less static. Also the cowling top covers are fixed but need a bit of cleaning up due to the gap shown previously.

You might have noticed that I knocked off the other wing root barrel as well.
