    Nice progress, my friend @johnb!
And I like your camo choice!
You are right about life interfering with our beloved hobby, still it's great that you manage to find these small, but so important, time slots to move your build forward.

@fiveten, Thanks Spiros, to overcome the shortage of time from last week I decided this morning to skip my running session and spent time on the cockpit. Might do the running later today.
@popeofchillitown, Thank you Ben, yesterday I bought the missing RLM colors.

Usualy Sunday morning is for running, but because I was not able to spent time on the 262 last week I decided to skip the running (might do it later today) and make some progress on the cockpit.
IP is decals provided by Hobby Boss and the seatbelts is after market from Eduard.

Interior looks great, John (@johnb). I have this kit stashed somewhere, so I am eager to see how it goes together.

@gwskat, @fiveten, @gblair, thanks for your kind words.
George, till now the kit is a pleasure to build, no fitting issues.

Did some constructions on the gun bay.
Weathering still needs to be done ofcourse.
The base of this part is metal which ofcourse helps it to prevent it from becoming a tail sitter.

First time I did a build with a piece of metal shaped that nicely.
Originally there should have been two other 30mm canons in the front part for the A-1a/U5 variant of this build. I will however build a normal A-1a having 'just' 4 canons.

    Looking great, my friend @johnb!
Nice that Hobyboss followed Tamiya's (among possibly others) practice of fabricating specially shaped metal parts.

Won't be long till it's time to close it up and work on the outside, John (@johnb). Putting nose weights in the box is certainly a great idea. I really like the idea that some manufacturers are offering several levels of kits, starting with the basic kit, then options for masks or photoetch or resin included in the kit. Eduard and a few others do this and I like the option of getting stuff in the kit that I would buy anyway.

    John, @johnb
It has been a while since I have posted anything, but I will say this... Your work so far has been very nicely done. The painting looks very realistic and lifelike. The cockpit looks incredible !

It is also a very nice touch to include metal nose weights in a kit. The only ones I can think of off hand in my stash that have this feature are the 1/48 Tamiya He-219's, Eduard P-39's, and Hobby Boss 262's (also in 1/48).

Now I know what I will use as an aid when I eventually get to build the Hobby Boss 262's I have collected over the years... 🙂 You just never know when the Gardner "Iron Werke" gets fired up again.

Spiros @fiveten, George @gblair, Tom @tcinla, Erik @airbum, Louis @lgardner, thanks a lot for all your encouraging words, appreciated a lot.
George, reading the build of Michael @michaelt, besides the metal nose piece, it is still advisable to add some additional weigth.

This week I was able to finish the internal parts. Hobby Boss did very nice work on creating those details. Unfortunatelly most of it will be covered up once the fuselage is closed. Luckily on starboard side there is the possibility to leave out the service hatch. I did some dry fitting already on the fuselage and the fit seems pretty nice.
