    John, @johnb
I typically have to go back and adjust the mottle paint work on my builds at least 3 or even 4 times, until it looks "just right" to my eye. It is not something that is easy to do and get it perfect on the very first time. I'm not saying it can't be done however, but in the end you will know it. When you are pleased with how it looks, then you are done.

It does look very good... 🙂

@lgardner, thanks for the feedback Louis. Been spending the last couple of days experimenting on the mottling. Will show the latest results in the next post.

Last couple of days I have been experimenting with the mottling because I was not fully satisfied with the previous shown result. After a couple of 'runs' the result is more spickled and better visible.
My own impression is that it looks better than the first try. Picture has been taken with artifical light.

    Thanks for the feedback

I concur John, looks even better now. 262 mottling was usually comprised of small blotches such as the ones you perfected here. You’ve been enhancing your airbrush skills with each new project

    Kudos to your airbrushing skills!

@holzhamer, @fiveten, thanks for the compliments.

    Some more work done yesterday.
The typical red nose is applied, it reminded me of a famous reindeer as well.

The nosewheel is attached and weathered together with the addition of the brake line.

    John, @johnb
This is looking great... and now you know the real reason why Santa can travel around the world in a single night... his sled is pulled by a 262 😉

The details you added to the nose gear look very good too. The weathering / dirt / grime have definitely brought the details in the kit parts out and now they are more visible.

The mottling work also looks better in these last pictures. I think you're getting closer to the finish line... 🙂

Careful with the speed - I noticed that the heat generated by the speed Santa travels with will instantly burn normal giftwrap paper!
Sorry to have been absent from all for a looong time, but boy, did the builds here on iModeler go a long way since my last visit. I love the progress here, and that mottling of yours look great!

Yep, that red nose suits the Schwalbe, my friend @johnb!
Love the brake lines and the overall progress!

    @holzhamer, @lgardner, @airbum, @fiveten, @skyraider3d, thanks for the kinds words.

Main gear was applied as well meaning that all major parts are attached now.
Only the antenna, pitot tube and struts for the canon covers have to be attached.
Vallejo gloss varnish was applied and I let it dry for at least 24 hours.
The decals are attached and next will be the stencils.
Thanks to Erik (@airbum) for sending me these decals to create the Red 13 from Heinz Bär.
To me it looks much better than the provided scheme from Hobby Boss.
Hope to be able to get everything done soon.

    Enjoy the weekend
