    Thanks for your comments. The paints I like using are enamels from the Luftwaffe-specific range from Humbrol. I think they were also available as acrylics too.

    They spray well but do need a bit of a stir before using; if you're using a paint brush, then best applied in two or three thin coats and build up the uniformity. They can appear a bit 'gloopy' at first, but persevere... they're good, in my opinion. There are also the 'martritime' shades for seaplanes/flying boats etc. They're good, too, but for me the darker marine green is a bit like tractor black! I add in a little of the lighter shade just to take the edge off it slightly. Overall, though, I have no complaints.

    Belated thanks for answering my question! I've not used Humbrol paints since I took a break from the hobby, 25 years ago. But I'll look into them, thanks!
