Thanks, guys. The hard edges look a little stark right now but they’ll look better after decals, washes, and clear coats blend it all together.

Really nice results with those masks, John @j-healy. Great that you can re-use them as well.

Eagle Cals day! I’ve had a busy week and finally got some time to Future and apply Jerry’s excellent decals. The shark mouth fit pretty well with just a small area that will need attention with some matching paint. Almost there.

Really nice result, @j-healy. The decals really bring it toward life.

Looking at the model painted without decals, I see a slight "edge" on the paint border a couple places. This is really common when using masks, no matter how much attention we pay to the work. I have found that if I run thread around the edge of the mask, about 1/16 inch in from the edge, it will then lift the edge. If you shoot "away" from the mask you get a real hard edge; if you shoot "toward" the mask you get "soft edge overspray" that is "scale." In either case you have no paint ridges.

Good tip, Tom. I didn’t notice it until the Future was on. I’ll rub down the more obvious ridges and re Future the areas. I really like Airfix’ color call outs for this plane. Some weathering should really make it stand out.

I did the chipping today with Floquil silver and Futured it. Washes and staining next. The final product will be dusty to reflect color pics of this plane.

I did some washes and fuel stains today. Clear coats, pastels next and then finish it up.
